Rebecca Shatles received her Masters of Acupuncture from the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture (ITEA) in Louisville, Colorado in 2008. She is a Diplomate of Acupuncture as certified by the NCCAOM and is licensed in the state of Utah. She has completed a post graduate apprenticeship in the advanced training of the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of orthopedic injuries and pain. She has also studied with Dr. Richard Tan in the Balance Method for the treatment of acute and chronic pain. In addition to running a private practice, Beck works as an acupuncturist at the Wellness and Integrative Health Center at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital
Beck is a nationally certified, state licensed massage therapist and an AOBTA certified therapist in Asian Healing Arts and Integrated Nutrition. She is a graduate of the Heartwood Institute where she studied nutrition with Paul Pitchford, author of Healing with Whole Foods. Beck received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Vermont in 1994.
Beck strives to facilitate the highest level of health and well-being in her clients. She takes a holistic approach to health care incorporating acupuncture, nutrition, bodywork and lifestyle recommendations. Beck views the practitioner-client relationship as a partnership. Every client is treated as an individual, whose concerns, needs and goals are continually readdressed. Her desire as a practitioner is to facilitate healing and help each individual reach his or her full potential.
Beck grew up in New York City, two blocks from the ocean. An avid skier and cyclist, she has spent most of her adult life in the mountains. She has lived in Utah for over ten years and loves the unique mix of city, mountains, desert and the wonderful community she has found here.
